Pendleton Air Museum Hosts Air Shows 8/1/2008 to 8/10/2008
The Pendleton Air Museum will host an air show on Sunday, August 10th, preceded by the Advanced World Aerobatic Championships (www.awac2008.org) August 1st through the 9th at the Eastern Oregon Regional Airport (3 miles NW of Pendleton, OR). The countries and cities that will be represented are Belgium, Gerogia, Italy, Japan, Luxembourg, South Africa, Ukraine, United Kingdom and the United States. More participants are expected as the air show grows near. The Pendleton Air Museum Air Show performers will include Advanced World Aerobatic Competition Participant, Don Mobly, and US Military airplanes. This is a family oriented event with a suggested donation. There will be vendor and planes on display. Pomeroy Living History Farm presents the 13th Annual Quilt Festival. This year's theme is entitled, 'Butterflies in the Garden'. Karen Snyder, owner of Anna Lena's Quilt Shop will be the featured speaker, discussing 'Depression Era Quilts' and will display her extensive collection of butterfly quilts. A variety of quilts spanning several generations will be displayed throughout the historic farm. Quilt shops and vendors will be available to sell their wares. The photographic exhibit: Faster, Higher, Farther: The Spirit of Track and Field Sports is now on display at the Jordan Schnitzer Museum of Art through August 31. Families will engage in a series of art activities which focus on the Olympics, product design, and movement in art.
