In the event a AAA member's private passenger automobile is disabled as a result of a collision, fire, theft, or vandalism, AAA will reimburse you up to a total of $200 for certain unexpected expenses, including the following:

  • Meals and lodging while your car is being repaired;
  • Car rental from a licensed rental agency so that you can continue your trip or return home; or
  • Commercial transportation to your destination on a licensed common carrier of passengers.

The disablement of the vehicle must occur 50 miles or more from your home. The member must be with the vehicle at the time of disablement. Mechanical failures do not qualify. Reimbursement will be for the largest single expense incurred by you and accompanying spouse from the three different types of reimbursable expenses listed above. Reimbursement applies only to expenses incurred during the first three days following the disablement of the vehicles.
